Medical expo to draw global health firms
DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA is set to strengthen its position as a regional healthcare hub as the 27th Medexpo Tanzania 2026 brings together medical and pharmaceutical firms from more than 20 countries to expand opportunities in the East African market.
The three-day exhibition, scheduled for September 2–4 at the Diamond Jubilee Expo Centre in Dar es Salaam, is expected to attract manufacturers, distributors, investors and healthcare providers seeking business partnerships.
Health Minister Mohamed Mchengerwa is expected to officiate the opening ceremony alongside ambassadors, senior government officials and industry stakeholders.
According to organisers, the exhibition will showcase the latest medical technologies while creating opportunities for business networking, learning and direct engagement between suppliers and buyers.
“As a leading regional platform for the medical, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, the event will showcase the latest innovations while providing three days of business, learning and networking,” organisers said in a statement.
Exhibitors are expected from China, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Pakistan, Sweden, Turkey, Kenya, Russia and the United States, among other countries.
The exhibition will feature surgical instruments, hospital furniture, laboratory equipment, diagnostic imaging systems, dental solutions, physiotherapy equipment and pharmaceutical innovations.

The event has received support from institutions including TanTrade, the Medical Stores Department (MSD), the Pharmacy Council, the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA), the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and Aga Khan Hospital.
Organisers said the strong institutional backing reflects the exhibition’s growing role in supporting quality healthcare while creating new commercial opportunities in the medical sector.
The programme will also feature product launches, live demonstrations and networking sessions targeting hospital procurement teams, pharmacists, clinicians, distributors and healthcare investors.
