COAST REGION: THE Minister of State in the Office of the President-TAMISEMI, Mohamed Mchengerwa, has urged contractor Nyanza Road Works Company to speed up the construction of the 81-meter-long Mbambe Bridge to ensure it is completed on time.
Once completed, the bridge will end communication challenges facing the residents of the district.
Mchengerwa issued these instructions during his visit to Mbambe Village, where he went to assess the progress of its construction.
Speaking after inspecting the work done, he stated that the construction progress, currently at 22 percent is still low, warning that heavy rains could delay the project.
Additionally, he urged the people of Mbambe Village to collaborate with the district leadership by reporting any delays in the construction, emphasizing that President Samia Suluhu Hassan has already allocated funds for compensation to the people affected by the project. The project also includes the construction of access roads on both sides of the bridge, totaling three kilometers.
