Mbowe: Lowassa’s attitude earned the hearts of many

ARUSHA: Freeman Mbowe, the national chairman of Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), fondly recalls the late Prime Minister Edward Lowassa as a humble man who collaborated peacefully with everyone.
Speaking at the burial ceremony of the iconic politician in his hometown of Monduli, Arusha, on Saturday, the opposition leader praised Lowassa’s character, noting that during his tenure with their party, his demeanor significantly contributed to the success of the opposition.
“Anyone who worked with Lowassa ended up being his friend; he had no ethnic or religious boundaries, making everyone his brother,” Mbowe remarked.
Furthermore, Mbowe expressed gratitude to Regina Lowassa, the widow, for allowing them the opportunity to visit Mr. Lowassa when he was hospitalized in South Africa.
The late former Prime Minister had once been a presidential candidate for CHADEMA in 2015 before returning to his long-time party, CCM, in 2019. His legacy as a unifying figure and his ability to transcend political and social boundaries continue to resonate with those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
