Mbeya ponder playoff game vs Mashujaa

MBEYA City have announced free entry for their return leg playoff encounter against Mashujaa at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya this Saturday.

A complete 16-team package of Premier League teams ahead of the 2023/24 season will be known after the second playoff match concludes on the day, thus making it a very crucial game for both sides.

Mbeya City’s first-leg suffered a 3-1 at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on Monday, where the hosts capitalised on the home-ground advantage to secure a win.

It looks like a big uphill task for them, but in football, everything is possible, especially in matches of this nature.

If Mbeya City does not avoid defeat, they will drop to Championship.

The team’s Assistant Coach Paul Nonga said they eye to avoid a defeat at any cost.

“We will be playing at our home venue where we believe that good results will be our way to escape relegation,” he affirmed.

On the other hand, it was an encouraging victory for Mashujaa as they head for Saturday’s match with ease, knowing in advance that they have a big chance to make it through to the top-flight league next term.

It makes the game exceptional and will attract the attention of many football fans in the country who are eager to know which side deserves a promotion.
