Mbarali mothers to benefit from Yas maternity support

MBARALI: Expectant mothers receiving care at Mbarali District Hospital are set to benefit from improved maternity services following the donation of medical equipment and essential maternity supplies by Yas Tanzania through its Tumaini Campaign.

The donation is intended to help the hospital address shortages of key supplies used in caring for women before, during and after childbirth, while giving health workers additional resources to provide safer and better care for mothers and newborns.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Yas Head of Southern Zone Frank Antony said the campaign is designed to provide practical support based on the needs of local communities.

“Our focus is on the mother who comes to the hospital to give birth and the health workers attending to her. We want these supplies to make a real difference in the care they receive and provide,” Antony said.

Dr Yakub Sanga, representing the Mbarali District Council Director, said the donation would strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide maternity services and help ease pressure caused by shortages of essential supplies.

Mbarali District Hospital Head Nurse Iman Mwakipusa and Acting Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr Albert Sichone said the additional equipment and supplies would support health workers in providing care to expectant mothers and women during childbirth.

The Mbarali donation is part of Yas Tanzania’s ongoing Tumaini Campaign, which supports health facilities in different parts of the country with medical equipment and supplies aimed at improving maternal healthcare.

The initiative comes as health facilities continue to require adequate equipment and essential supplies to ensure mothers and newborns receive timely and quality care during childbirth.
