Mayele, Mgunda best player and coach of month
Young Africans striker Fiston Mayele has been picked November player of the month after dominating Simba forward Moses Phiri and Geita Gold’s Saido Ntibazonkiza in the finals.
A statement unleashed by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) on Thursday morning reveals that Mayele had a big impact for his side’s success in the aforementioned month.
“He scored seven goals plus a hat-trick and provided one assist in five matches which necessitated him to beat other two finalists Phiri and Ntibazonkiza,” reads part of the statement.
Furthermore, it indicates that in November, Yanga defeated Kagera Sugar 1-0, outclassed Singida Big Stars 4-1, defeated Dodoma Jiji 2-0, and outplayed Mbeya City 2-0 before suffering a 2-1 loss from Ihefu in Mbeya.
On the other hand, Simba caretaker coach Juma Mgunda has clinched the November Best Coach accord after overwhelming two finalists Hans Van Pluijm of Singida Big Stars and Kagera Sugar’s trainer Mecky Mexime.
“In November, Simba defeated Ihefu 1-0, outclassed Ruvu Shooting 4-0, cleared Polisi Tanzania 3-1 and recorded a 1-1 draws versus Singida Big Stars and Mbeya City,” says the statement.
It further discloses that the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Awards Committee could not include Azam in the category of Best Coach because the club has no Head Coach.
To the side of Best Stadium Manager, the winner is Hassan Simba who is Liti Stadium manager located in Singida.
