Maxim donates food supplies to Tumaini Orphanage in Dodoma

DODOMA: Ride-hailing and delivery platform, Maxim, has donated a two-to-three-month supply of food to children living at the Tumaini Foundation orphanage in Dodoma, benefiting about 150 children, including those with disabilities.
Representatives of the company visited the orphanage earlier this month and delivered essential food items that had been identified as urgently needed by the institution’s management.
According to the orphanage director, Daniel, the donation followed a request submitted to the company listing key food supplies required to sustain the children.
The food package included rice, beans, sugar, salt, maize flour and wheat flour, as well as sweets for the children.
“On behalf of the residents and staff of the Tumaini Foundation, I would like to thank you for your assistance. You quickly responded to our request and provided exactly what we needed. Thank you for taking the extra step as a business by engaging in charitable activities,” Daniel said.
Maxim Regional Representative, Franklin Foy, said supporting communities is a core part of the company’s operations.
“A company’s effectiveness is not only measured by financial performance but also by the contribution it makes in addressing social challenges. Our visit to Tumaini Foundation is part of our ongoing commitment to support communities in Tanzania,” he said.
The visit concluded with a collective prayer led by orphanage staff for the wellbeing of the children and continued growth of the company.
Maxim, an international ride-hailing brand operating across Africa, Asia and Latin America, launched its services in Dodoma in 2025. The company operates in Tanzania as a licensed provider under the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA).
Despite being a relatively new entrant in the market, Maxim has been expanding its services to additional cities, positioning itself as a provider of affordable transport and delivery services aimed at increasing accessibility for a wider population.
