Makonda calls on Mwanza residents to cherish ‘Made in Tanzania’ products

MWANZA: THE Minister for Information, Arts, Culture, and Sports, Paul Makonda, has urged Tanzanians to support the efforts of local investors by using and valuing locally produced goods. He emphasized that this step is crucial for economic growth, strengthening the industrial sector, and increasing employment opportunities for citizens.
Mr Makonda made these remarks today while visiting the Ziwa steel and wire products limited factory in Mwanza region concluding his tour of the area when he was representing president Samia Suluhu Hassan in the visiting of various development projects.
Mr Makonda has also urged citizens, particularly the youth, to initiate various economic projects and activities that will enable them to become self-reliant rather than depending solely on formal employment.
He emphasized the importance of parents and the community at large creating an environment and opportunities for young people to establish sustainable projects; these would serve as a foundation for economic self-reliance and benefit future generations.
