Makata relieved by Pamba Jiji victory
DAR ES SALAAM: PAMBA Jiji FC Head Coach, Mbwana Makata has commended his charges after earning a 4-0 victory over Copco FC in their Championship League match at the Nyamagana Stadium over the weekend.
Makata said the victory has come timely as it is a major boost for his side ahead of their coming match which will see them travelling to Dar es Salaam to face the Green Warriors.
“I congratulate my players, as they played as planned and executed well the technical bench’s instructions to earn a deserved victory, we lost against Biashara United in our previous games but my players corrected their mistakes and fought to beat Copco,” he said.
He further disclosed not carried away with the 4-0 win and that they have now shifted their focus on their next Saturday’s Championship League match against the Green Warriors to be staged at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Mbweni.
Commenting about the ongoing league, Makata disclosed that the league has been very tough and competitive as each team is well prepared seeking positive results which is why most of the teams are separated on points by a small margin in the league table.
On his side Copco FC Coach Feisal Hau said that his team played well in the first half but could not cultivate the chances they created. However he unveiled that they are looking forward to doing well in their remaining 10 games.
According to the league fixtures on February 17, Pamba Jiji will play against Transit camp at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro region.
In the Championship League, Pamba Jiji FC is placed in the second position with 43 points after 20 games. The team has won 13, drawn four, and lost three matches scoring 34 and conceding 12 goals.
