DAR ES SALAAM: Chama Cha Mapinduzi’s Ideology, Publicity and Training secretary, CPA Amos Makalla, has applauded Tanzania Labour Party (TLP) for supporting CCM candidates during campaigns for the local government elections.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Ukonga Constituency, Ilala District, Dar es Salaam, on Sunday, Makalla praised the gesture as a sign of political solidarity, emphasizing that politics is not about conflict but building unity for national development.

“I wasn’t surprised to see a national leader of TLP introducing CCM candidates on Saturday or the TLP youth leader attending today’s rally. This reflects their trust in the development efforts spearheaded by CCM,” he stated.

CPA Makalla highlighted various achievements under CCM’s leadership, which he said have strengthened public confidence in the party.

He specifically pointed out clean water projects implemented in Ukonga and commended MP Jerry Silaa for his commitment to ensuring residents have access to this essential service.

“Clean piped water used to be a dream for Ukonga residents, but today it is a reality, thanks to the efforts of their CCM MP,” he said.

In the education sector, Makalla recalled his tenure as Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, during which he oversaw the construction of COVID-19 classrooms.

In Ukonga, CPA Makalla revealed that CCM has fielded candidates in all 70 streets, with 28 of those uncontested by opposition parties, guaranteeing automatic wins.

He expressed optimism about CCM’s success nationwide, noting the increasing number of opposition members joining the party during campaign rallies.
