League resumes in top gear

- Pamba Jiji record hefty win
DAR ES SALAAM: PAMBA Jiji and Mashujaa FC yesterday enjoyed victories after each side secured three points in their respective Mainland Premier League matches.
The win meant a lot for Pamba Jiji as they secured their first league win after a poor league start this season, with a commanding 4-0 win against Geita Gold at Kirumba Stadium in Dar es Salaam to climb to 14th place with four points.
Henry Lutonja opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Deogratius Mafie doubled Pamba Jiji’s advantage three minutes later.
After the break, Zabona Mayombya added third for his side in the 50th minute before Idriss Diomande completed the scoring in the 80th minute.
Meanwhile, Mashujaa won 2-1 against Polisi Tanzania at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, the victory which lifted them to fourth place with 12 points, while Polisi Tanzania remained seventh on 10 points.

Mashujaa took the lead in the 30th minute when Mishamo Daudi headed home Haruni Chanongo’s assist, giving his side a 1-0 advantage at half-time.
Polisi Tanzania levelled in the 52nd minute after being awarded a penalty, with Anuary Jabir making no mistake from the spot to bring his side back into the contest.
Mashujaa, however, regained the lead through another penalty after Ken Ally was penalised for handball inside the box. Michael Godlove stepped up to convert the spot-kick and secure all three points for Mashujaa
