Kondoa TC introduces monthly awards for top- performing executives

KONDOA Town Council Director, Said Majaliwa,

DODOMA: KONDOA Town Council Director, Said Majaliwa, has announced the launch of a monthly award programme to recognise outstanding performance among ward and street executives.

Speaking during a working session with executives from all eight wards and 36 streets, Mr Majaliwa underscored the crucial role of accountability and teamwork in achieving the council’s development goals.

He said that starting in this month, performance evaluations would focus on project supervision, sanitation management, and revenue collection.

“This initiative is meant to motivate all of us to work harder,” he said. The director expressed concerns over underperformance in certain areas, particularly in revenue collection.

He reminded executives of his previous directive to maintain a register of business operators and monitor license renewal dates. “I gave clear instructions, but they haven’t been implemented.

If we take action, let’s not shift blame,” he warned. Mr Majaliwa also encouraged executives to involve interns in fieldwork, especially in revenue collection, to provide practical experience instead of keeping them in office settings.

To ensure discipline within the council, the director stressed that no executive should leave their duty station without formal permission.

“Ward executives must seek approval from the Director, while street executives need authorisation from the Head of Administration and Human Resource Management.

Absence for five consecutive days could result in dismissal,” he cautioned
