KMC edge out Ken Gold

DARES SALAAM: KINONDONI Municipal Council (KMC) secured their first victory win of the Premier League season with a 1-0 win over Ken Gold at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

The lone goal came from Redemtus Mussa in the 14th minute.

The defeat for Ken Gold leaves them winless along with Namungo and Kagera Sugar, who have also lost their first three matches.

Mussa’s goal was a well-taken corner kick that caught Ken Gold goalkeeper Castor Mhagama off guard.

Mhagama’s attempt to save the ball only helped it find the net.

KMC now sits seventh in the league table with four points from three matches.

They previously lost to Singida Black Stars and drew with Coastal Union.

In another league development, Pamba Jiji will host Singida Black Stars at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza today.

Pamba Jiji, still unbeaten, are searching for their first Premier League win.

The newcomers have struggled to find their footing in the league, drawing their first three matches.

Despite playing at home, they have been unable to capitalise on their advantage, drawing against Tanzania Prisons, Dodoma Jiji, and Azam FC.

Coach Goran Kopunovic is determined to break the deadlock and secure Pamba Jiji’s first win.

“We approach every game with the mindset to win, but sometimes things don’t go as planned,” he said.

Meanwhile, Singida Black Stars are looking to extend their winning streak and maintain their perfect start to the season.

Their Belgian coach Patrick Aussems has guided the team to nine points from three matches, scoring six goals and conceding two.

Aussems is familiar with Tanzanian football and is confident in his team’s ability to continue their success.

“Every league match is different and difficult, but we’re here to fight for maximum points,” he said.
