Third person plural (ham);any news( jambo)?=direct translation.

With the falling tone to differentiate with the question.

Hamjambo.

Third person plural ( ham);any news (jambo)?=direct translation; the response is

” Hatujambo”which means we all fine.

Karibu

This word had two different meanings. The first one is welcome and second one is near. Tanzanians are so charming oriented people.

Normally after greeting elders or any Swahili speaker will tell you” karibu” the response is Asante.

Asante means thank you.
