Kili Marathon wins strong backing as it gathers storm

MOSHI: STRONG backing from Tanzanian firms and bumper entry from athletes from over 60 nations have once again maintained the status of the Kilimanjaro Marathon as a global event.

Ahead of its official flag off on March 22, 2026, in Moshi Municipality, Tanzania’s grand run will involve the 42km full marathon, 21km half marathon, and 5km fun run.

Tanzania Breweries Limited is the title sponsor under the Kilimanjaro Premium Lager banner, which will stage the 42km category.

YAS is the official sponsor of the 21km Half Marathon, while CRDB Bank is the sponsor of the 5 km Fun Run.

The event’s cosponsors are Kilimanjaro Natural Mineral Water and TPC Sugar, while Official Partners are – GardaWorld Security, Toyota Tanzania, Harleys Healthcare Solutions, Columbia Sportswear, Simba Cement, and ALAF Limited.

Also fully involved is Harley’s Healthcare Solutions, which is backing the event for the second year running.

“We have participated as co-sponsors. The experience has been very positive and impactful, offering strong brand visibility, valuable engagement with athletes and stakeholders, and a meaningful opportunity to support health, wellness, and sports development in Tanzania,” says Geofrey Lyimu the Marketing Manager.

On their primary focus this year, he says they plan to promote Deep Heat and Deep Freeze products for fast pain relief, particularly for runners and athletes.

“We plan to conduct product demonstrations, on-route support, and interactive engagements at the finish stadium and within the Kili Expo area to enhance our visibility and provide hands-on value to participants,” he adds.

“We remain committed to the success of the Kilimanjaro International Marathon and its positive impact on sports, health, and tourism in Tanzania,” explains Mr Lyimu.

The event is organized by Kilimanjaro Marathon Company Limited every year in Moshi, while Wild Frontiers Events is responsible for all the inbound travel and international marketing of the event.
