Kikwete eulogizes the late William Lukuvi

DAR ES SALAAM: THE former Tanzanian President, Jakaya Kikwete, has said the death of William Lukuvi has left a significant void in the nation, citing his integrity, diligence and deep patriotism.

Speaking during the farewell of the late leader’s body at Karimjee Grounds today, Kikwete described Lukuvi as a hardworking and selfless public servant who executed his duties with honesty and commitment.

“He was a dedicated leader who loved to serve. Whenever I assigned him responsibilities during my presidency, he carried them out with integrity and always provided feedback,” the former President said.

Additionally, he said Lukuvi’s unwavering commitment to national service and his exemplary work ethic earned him respect across the political spectrum.

Norbert Lukuvi, son of the late William Lukuvi, said his father’s enduring legacy lies in teaching his family to live with love for all people and to remain dedicated to hard work.

Speaking during the farewell ceremony held at Karimjee Grounds today, Norbert said their father consistently encouraged them to embrace unity and diligence in everything they do.

He added that during his lifetime, Lukuvi always urged his children to strive to learn new things and to seek clarity on any matter before making decisions.

Norbert expressed gratitude to leaders and members of the public who turned up in large numbers to pay their last respects, describing the support as a source of comfort to the family during the difficult time.
