Kigahe invites Companies at BuildExpo Africa 2024 to invest in Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Mr Exaud Kigahe has invited companies participating in 25th BuildExpo Africa 2024 to invest in Tanzania, emphasising that the government has created a favorable climate for investment.

Additionally, he said the government has been making various initiatives to ease investment conditions and make it run smoothly by improving road infrastructure and the aviation sector.

However, Mr Kigahe urged the existing investors in the country to effectively utilise the available infrastructure to increase output and expand their markets.

Mr Kigahe made the remark when officiating the 25 th BuildExpo Africa International Trade Exhibition 2024 held in Dar es Salaam.

At the event Mr Kigahe was representing the Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr Selemani Jafo.

“I would like to welcome all the companies that have come to this expo to invest and start producing their products here in the country,” Mr Kigahe said.

Coupled with this, he said the move would not only benefit the investors but also Tanzania will gain in a number of ways including job creation for the youth.

“By producing various goods in the country, we will be able to increase employment opportunities,” he stressed.

He further commended President Samia for establishing an even better investment climate for the private sector, ensuring that their operations run smoothly.

He also applauded the ExpoGroup for coordinating the event in the country.

For his side, a Regional Director-East Africa at Expo Group, Mr Duncan Njage said this year’s Expo has been highly successful, noting that the number of participating companies has increased from 200 last year to 300 this year.

He further added that of those companies, 50 are from Tanzania saying this indicates that the Expo continues to grow.

He also encouraged Tanzanians to attend the Expo and see various products.

He said the event is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.
