TANZANIA. Dar es Salaam: The National Housing Corporation (NHC) has handed about a twelve-hectare piece of land to the Government for a construction project of a state-of-the-art Kawe Sports Arena in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking at a meeting with editors held in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, the NHC’s Director General, Hamad Abdallah said that all local games as well as big concerts will be hosted in the area.
He said that the corporation is also executing other projects including satellite cities, one of them being Tanganyika Packers located at Kawe.
“We have up to 264 hectares at Tanganyika Packers, so we are bringing a totally different and modern city. Instead of people coming to purchase goods at Kariakoo, they will be getting everything at Kawe,” NHC’s Director General said.
NHC is implementing various projects in collaboration with other partners through Private-Public Partnership (PPP).
