Karibuni Tena! President Samia thanks leaders for energy commitments

DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has expressed gratitude to Heads of State and Government, distinguished guests, delegates, and development partners who attended the recently concluded Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam.
The summit, held on January 27–28, 2025, brought together approximately 25 African Heads of State, over 40 leaders of international organizations, 25 energy-focused billionaires, and more than 1,500 delegates. It served as a pivotal platform for advancing sustainable energy access across the continent.
In a post shared on her official X account (formerly Twitter), President Samia described the summit as a significant milestone in accelerating clean energy access for over 300 million people in Africa.
“My heartfelt thanks to Excellencies, Heads of State and Government, distinguished guests, delegates, our development partners, and friends who made their way to Dar es Salaam for the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit on January 27–28, 2025.
The summit successfully provided us with a platform to deliberate and commit to accelerating access to affordable, inclusive, sustainable, and clean energy for over 300 million people across our continent,” she wrote.
President Samia also expressed confidence in the Dar es Salaam Declaration, adopted during the summit, emphasizing its role in shaping Africa’s energy future.

The declaration underscores the commitment of African nations, alongside global development partners, philanthropies, and the private sector, to connect 300 million people to electricity by 2030.
It also acknowledges the urgent need to address Africa’s energy challenges, as nearly 600 million people still lack access to electricity, and almost 1 billion rely on inefficient cooking solutions, despite recent progress across the continent.
“I am confident that the Dar es Salaam Declaration will shape Africa’s energy landscape through 2030, driving us toward economic liberation for our people,” she added.
President Samia concluded with a warm invitation:
