KARIAKOO DERBY: Nzengeli scores brace as Young Africans defeat Simba 5-1

DAR ES SALAAM: Young Africans have regained the top spot of the Premier League table after a 5-1 blitz of their traditional rivals Simba.

The traditional derby match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening has awarded the holders maximum points.

A piercing 3rd minute header from Kennedy Musonda gave the visitors a lead before Kibu Denis levelled the deficit in the 9th minute.

At 1-1, the game was balance until the half-time whistle sounded.

In the second half, on fire Maxi Nzengeli sealed a brace before Stephanie Aziz Ki and a late spot kick by Pacome Zouzoua sealed the deal for Miguel Gamondi’s men.

With the victory, Yanga have generated 21 points from eight matches and have scored 25 goals.

“It is the happiest day of my football career,” says Gamondi after the game.

Simba’s skipper Mohamed Hussein says they were easily dominated at midfield, something the didn’t get prepared for, resulting to the big defeat.
