Kagera’s Yusuph targets 10-goal onslaught

KAGERA Sugar’s marksman, Mbaraka Yusuph eyes a successful career in 2023/24 as he targets to score more than 10 Premier League goals at the end of the season.
He said he was not successful last season due to a long-time injury and completed the season with only four goals.
He confirmed that he is now in good shape, drilling hard for the next season to ensure success he brings success at Kagera Sugar in the both top-flight league and the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC).
“I’m still at Kagera Sugar for the next season. I want to give my best next season and help my team excel in the Premier League.
“On the cause of my duty, my target is to score at least ten goals and more,” he said.
Commenting on his performance in the 2022/23 Premier League season, Yusuph stated that it was quite a difficult season for him.
He highlighted that the difficulty was due to the stiff opposition and the in-club competition from his fellow players playing the same role as him.
He competed with Anuary Jabir, Meshack Mwamita, Hamis Kiiza, and Yusuph Mhilu.
He disclosed that he scored only four goals in the 18 matches he played.
Yusuf, the former Azam FC forward, said frequent injuries were t denied him a chance to meet his last season’s target.
He said he will fight hard next season, despite anticipating tough opposition, to meet the desired goal.
Yusuph signed for Kagera Sugar in 2020, where he has not performed to his best for three consecutive seasons.
