Kagera Sugar reappoints Mexime
AFTER going separate ways with Head Coach Francis Baraza on mutual agreement, Kagera Sugar have picked Assistant Coach Marwa Chacha as caretaker trainer of the team.
The Kagera based giants have become the latest side to part ways with Head Coach after Azam who lately sacked Frenchman Denis Lavagne at the helm of the club.
So far, at least seven Premier League clubs have terminated contracts with Head Coaches just in the tenth round of the campaign.
A statement from Kagera Sugar released on Sunday said Chacha will guide the team during their next premier league fixture against KMC at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza on Tuesday.
“The management would like to thank Baraza for his immense contributions at the club throughout his tenure.
“We have reached at the decision to terminate the contract for the best interest of the club and we wish him the best of luck wherever he goes,” said part of the released statement.
Baraza’s last match at the helm of the club was a 2-1 defeat to Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi, the team’s fifth loss of the season.
From the played nine matches, Kagera Sugar have stamped two wins and two draws thereby bagging eight points which mathematically is not a good run as far as the league is concerned.
So far, other clubs which have extended farewell hands to Head Coaches include Azam, Polisi Tanzania, Dodoma Jiji, Ihefu, Coastal Union and Simba.
