Kabudi calls for discipline, efficiency in public offices
DODOMA: NEWLY appointed Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), Prof Palamagamba Kabudi, has outlined key operational expectations for staff, directing them to uphold professionalism, efficiency and accountability in executing government duties.
Prof Kabudi outlined his roadmap on Wednesday during his first official engagement with staff after reporting for duty at the Prime Minister’s Office headquarters at the Ngome building in Dodoma.
The minister, who was sworn in on Wednesday, takes over the position following the death of his predecessor, the late William Lukuvi.
During the meeting, Prof Kabudi emphasised the importance of teamwork, creativity and shared responsibility in strengthening policy coordination and implementation within the office.
“It is important that we exchange ideas and work collectively to support Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan in delivering development that brings prosperity and happiness to all Tanzanians,” he said.
He noted that the Prime Minister’s Office plays a central role in coordinating government policies and programmes, calling on staff to remain committed to supporting the national development agenda, including the implementation of the National Vision 2050.

The minister further stressed that unity among staff should translate into improved performance and efficiency in service delivery.
However, he cautioned that a conducive working environment should not be mistaken for laxity or weakened discipline.
“Good relations at the workplace must be a driving force for accountability and high performance, not a reason for complacency,” he said.
Prof Kabudi also paid tribute to his predecessor, calling on staff to continue praying for the late Lukuvi and honour his contributions to strengthening the office.
“I will continue, to the best of my ability, the foundations and efforts laid by my predecessor in strengthening this office,” he said.
Deputy Minister Ummy Nderiananga congratulated Prof Kabudi on his appointment, assuring him of full cooperation from staff in fulfilling the office’s responsibilities.
Permanent Secretary, Dr Jim Yonazi, also reaffirmed staff readiness to work under the minister’s leadership and maintain efficiency in public service delivery.
