KABADDI Tanzania players have begun an off camp training ahead of the East African Championship in Uganda early next month,
The East Africa level tournament will be staged at Lugogo ground in Kampala from December 13th to 16 this year.
Apart from Tanzania, the EAC competitions will also involve other three countries; Kenya, Rwanda, and the hosts Uganda.
Speaking with Daily News, the Kabaddi Chairman Abdallah Nyoni said a team of 24 players expects to depart on December 12th this year involving both men and women players picked from various schools.
The schools are Kenton, High view School, and Kingani.
However, he claimed that the players are students and they are continuing with their studies; therefore they are doing an off camp training.
He said that the players will camp at High view Secondary School in Gongo la Mboto in Dar es Salaam.
He added the Youth Development Officer Abukareem Mbaga and the coach will also be part of the team.
While addressing this, the Chairman has called on the sport’s stakeholders to support the team as the players face limited financial resources.
Additionally, he stressed that the team needs sports gear that will help them to drill effectively while in the camp.
‘’I call on the sport’s stakeholders to support the team by providing the sports gear that will help them to drill more in the camp, ‘’he stressed.
