Juju Kida pockets 2.5m/- for winning Bolt Dance Challenge

DAR ES SALAAM: JUJU Kida has been awarded a 2.5m/-cash prize after winning the Bolt TZ Dance Challenge in a ceremony held in Dar es Salaam.

Juju Kida, whose birth name is  Julius Bernard, emerged the winner of the contest thanks to his artistic skill and cultural creativity.

Previously, he won 300,000/- in a dance competition organized by a betting company, but this latest victory has earned him national recognition as one of Tanzania’s rising dance stars.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Dimmy Kanyankole, the Bolt’s General Manager for Tanzania and Kenya, said the competition ran from July to August 25 and attracted hundreds of participants from across the country.

“This competition showcased the creativity and passion of Tanzanian youth. The campaign was driven by an original song titled Safari ni Bolt, composed to reflect unity and everyday journeys,” Kanyankole said.

The challenge was led by renowned dancers Angel Nyigu and Dogo Noma, who provided the initial choreography that participants then built upon with their own unique styles.

On her part, Peace Watiri, Bolt’s Regional Marketing Manager for East Africa, said the initiative was designed to give young people a platform to showcase their talent before a wide audience.

“Dance is more than entertainment—it is a cultural language. This competition demonstrates Bolt’s commitment to supporting local talent while positioning ourselves as more than just an online ride-hailing service,” Watiri noted.

Meanwhile, winner Juju Kida expressed gratitude for the award, saying his passion for dance is what drove him to success.
