JPCDS meeting consolidates Tanzania- Mozambique pact in defence and security issues

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Ayoub Mohammed Mahmoud has participated in the Seventh Meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission for Defence and Security Cooperation between Tanzania and Mozambique (JPCDS), held in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

The meeting was jointly chaired by the Commission’s Chairperson, Minister for Defence and National Service, Dr Rhimo Nyansaho, and Mozambique’s Minister of Defence, Major General Cristovao Chume.

During the meeting, the leaders and other delegates discussed various issues concerning cooperation between Tanzania and Mozambique in strengthening defence and security in the two countries.

Other officials in attendance included Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr Franklin Rwezimula, along with senior officials from security agencies, departments and units under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The meeting focused on strengthening security cooperation between Tanzania and Mozambique and developing joint strategies aimed at safeguarding the security and interests of citizens in both countries.
