Jokate named new UWT boss

DAR ES SALAAM : Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’s Central Committee (CC) has appointed Ms Joketi Mwegelo as the new Secretary General of the ruling party’s Women’s Wing (UWT).

Prior to the appointment, Ms Mwegelo was Korogwe District Commissioner.

CCM Ideology and Publicity Secretary, Sophia Mjema revealed this in a statement availed to the media, shortly after the CC meeting held on Sunday in Dar es Salaam and presided over by the Chairperson, President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The committee has also appointed Fakii Lulandala as the new chairperson for CCM’s Youth Wing (UVCCM).

Prior to his appointment Mr Lulandala was Momba District Commissioner in Songwe Region.

In another development, the committee has endorsed Mr Hamad Khamis Hamad as CCM’s candidate for Matembwe constituent Representative
