DAR ES SALAAM: JKT Tanzania have revealed ambitious plans to bolster their squad by signing three new players in the ongoing transfer window, aiming to increase their competitiveness in the Premier League that has been put off for two months.
In a media statement, the club’s Media and Communication Manager, Masau Bwire, shared that the recruitment was in line with the recommendations of Head Coach Ahmad Ally.
Bwire explained that the coach had identified key areas for improvement, specifically suggesting the addition of a striker, a left-back and a midfielder.
“We are in discussions with these three players based on the coach’s recommendations and once the signings are confirmed, we will make an official announcement because we know the league is highly competitive and that why we are committed to strengthening our squad to stay competitive,” Bwire said.
He further said that this is not a league where you can afford to lose focus cause one defeat can push you down the standings and our goal is to avoid a repeat of last season’s relegation battle.
Currently, JKT Tanzania occupies eighth place in the league with 19 points from 16 matches, having secured four wins, seven draws and suffered seven losses so far this season.

Meanwhile in the ongoing mini-transfer window, Namungo FC has undergone significant changes this season, parting ways with six players, including key figures such as midfielder Frank Domayo and wingback Djuma Shabani.
Other departures include Amade Momade, Raphael Loth, Ritch Nkoli and Moubarack Amza, as the club aims to restructure its squad. Despite the exits, Namungo has yet to announce any new signings as they work on reshaping their team.
The season has been tough for the club, starting with three consecutive defeats. The challenges continued with three more losses after only two wins, leaving them with six defeats in their first eight matches. By the time Namungo secured their third win, they had already endured nine losses in 12 matches, which raised concerns within the management.
This poor run of form prompted a managerial change, with head coach Mwinyi Zahera leaving the club. Juma Mgunda was appointed as the new head coach to guide the team through the remainder of the season.
Elsewhere, KenGold has released four players from their squad, though the status of player Ben Morrison remains uncertain amid ongoing transfer activities while Azam FC has extended the contract of goalkeeper Zubier Foba for two more years, keeping him at the club until 2027.
As the transfer window progresses, teams across the league continue to make key changes to their rosters, all in preparation for the challenges ahead.
