JKT Queens see off Canada in Military Games
JKT Queens started well the 14th World Military Women’s Football Championship after defeating Canada 3-1 in the Netherlands over the weekend.
On target for the country’s representatives were Stumai Abdallah and Donisia Minja, who netted a brace and succeeded in handing their side a vital victory.
It was a brilliant start for them as they aimed to go all the way to clinch the prestigious silverware and bring it home for the first time.
They are packed in group B alongside South Korea, Canada and the defending champions France with each team looking serious to win the championship.
Group A consists of The Netherlands, Nigeria, Uzbekistan and Greece, while Group C consists of Cameroon, North Korea, USA and Germany.
JKT Queens already vowed to represent the country well through the team’s Head Coach Ally Ally, who, before the trip, stressed that his charges are in good shape for the contest.
He said that based on their training sessions, he has no doubt about doing wonders in the Netherlands and that people should expect good results from them.
His words are now bearing testimony as they have begun the competition well even though it is their first time to reach that big world stage.
In terms of domestic league performance, they are untouchable after claiming last season Women’s Premier League title without suffering defeat, a symbol that they have a class of competitive players.
