JKT close to return to Premier League

JKT Tanzania are just one match away from earning Premier League return next season as they continue to dominate Championship League.

They sit at the top of the table with 62 points from 25 games making them clear favorites to come back in the top flight league and dine with big guns.

From the played 25 fixtures, JKT Tanzania have generated 20 wins, two draws and three defeats which is a convincing run for them.

Furthermore, they lead in terms of marksmanship after netting 43 goals more than any other team on the log and have conceded 31 goals.

On second place are Pamba who have claimed 51 points from 24 encounters while Kitayosce are third on the table with 50 points from 24 assignments.

These two teams are having their own league searching for a place to feature in the elite league next term and according to the available guidelines, only two top placed sides win automatic qualification to the premier league.

On fourth place are Mashujaa who parade 41 points from 24 clashes and have won 12 matches, losing five games in the process.

Fountain Gate sit on fifth slot with 41 points after 25 engagements whereas KenGold occupies the sixth place courtesy of 38 points.

Meanwhile, with four matches to go before the end of the 2022/23 Premier League season, a red relegation light is flashing for the two bottom placed Polisi Tanzania and Ruvu Shooting.

The two teams are swimming in deep waters making it hard to escape the yawning relegation jaws and time is running fast for them to make a U-turn.

Polisi Tanzania are 16th on the ladder with 19 points from 26 matches while Ruvu Shooting sit on 15th slot courtesy of 20 points.

According to regulations, two teams which end the campaign at the base of the log are automatically relegated to the Championship League to begin afresh promotion battles.

In this case, Polisi Tanzania and Ruvu Shooting are just too close from facing the wrath that poor performing sides in the top flight league are exposed to whenever they fail to dance with the beat.

Both Polisi Tanzania and Ruvu Shooting succumbed to upsetting defeats in the elapsed 26th round as the former went down 3-0 from Singida Big Stars while the latter lost 3-1 to Tanzania Prisons.
