Discussing the implementation of CCM’s manifesto in Bukombe, Dr Kikwete commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for allocating substantial funds to support numerous development projects in the constituency.

He noted that both ongoing and completed projects have brought visible benefits to the people of Bukombe and praised Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr Doto Biteko, for his efforts in driving development in the area. “I assure you; you did not make a mistake by voting for Dr Biteko,” Dr Kikwete added.

Meanwhile, Dr Biteko, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bukombe, expressed his gratitude to President Samia for her continuous support in funding development projects. “I want to begin by saying that everything we have achieved in this constituency is due to the goodwill of our President, Dr Samia.

She cares deeply for the people of Bukombe. During my time as a Member of Parliament, I have witnessed her allocate significant funds for our development projects,” said Dr Biteko. He revealed that President Samia had approved the construction of a tarmacked road from Ushirombo to Katoro, with the government currently seeking a contractor to begin work.

Additionally, Bukombe is set to implement a large-scale electricity project in Busonzo Ward, which will generate 5 megawatts to be fed into the national grid. Earlier, Dr Biteko presented a report detailing various development projects being implemented under the CCM Manifesto, covering infrastructure, health services, water supply, energy distribution and improvements in the education sector, such as the construction of classrooms, dormitories, laboratories and toilets at primary and secondary schools.

In the energy sector, the report highlighted that electricity supply has now reached all 64 villages in the district, boosting investment opportunities and improving the local economy.
