DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA erupted with pride as Jihan Dimack was crowned Miss Grand International 2026, delivering a golden moment for the nation in a spectacular finale in Bangkok, Thailand.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Jihan shed tears of joy as her dream became reality.
The Tanzanian flag flew high on the international stage, marking a memorable achievement for the beauty queen and her country.
In a touching coronation ceremony, outgoing titleholder Emma Tiglao of the Philippines placed the crown on Jihan’s head amid dazzling stage lights and golden confetti. It was a powerful moment, symbolising the end of one queen’s reign and the beginning of another’s.
Jihan’s elegance extended beyond the crown. Her evening gown featured intricate, sparkling embellishments that caught the stage lights beautifully, complementing its classic mermaid silhouette.
With sleek styling, a graceful runway walk and commanding stage presence, she carried herself with confidence and poise. Her performance reflected the composure expected of an international beauty queen, capturing attention as the competition reached its decisive stages.
Before the final announcement, Jihan faced three podium appearances, each demanding confidence and clear communication. She rose to the occasion, maintaining her composure under pressure as the field narrowed.
The final five comprised Tanzania, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Guatemala and Vietnam.
Ecuador finished as first runner-up, followed by the Netherlands in second place, Guatemala in third and Vietnam in fourth.
Jihan’s victory followed an impressive journey through the Top 25 and Top 11, where she competed against representatives from across the globe.
Back home, Dar es Salaam became a centre of excitement as Tanzanians gathered in different locations to watch the finale.
The announcement brought joy and national pride, uniting supporters behind a victory that placed Tanzania firmly in the international spotlight.
Beyond the main crown, Tanzania also secured the Golden Grand Award, reportedly competing against Japan and the Philippines.
