MINISTER for Industry and Trade, Dr Selemani Jafo, has commended the remarkable development milestones achieved across various sectors in Kisarawe District over the past four years.
He said that, following the development, implementation of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Election Manifesto of 2020-2025 in the district is nearing 99 per cent completion.
Dr Jafo who is also Kisarawe Member of Parliament expressed pride for the significant achievements attained, particularly in education, health, water supply and road infrastructure.
“The construction of school infrastructure in all wards has achieved a 99.9 per cent completion rate. This accomplishment ensures improved access to education for children in the district, addressing a long-standing challenge in rural communities,” he said.
In the healthcare sector, Dr Jafo said that each ward has a fully operational health centre capable of providing essential services, including surgical services.
He added that, the availability of such facilities marks a critical step in improving healthcare delivery for residents.
The minister also highlighted significant progress in addressing water shortages. “A 27 billion/- water project, set to commence in January, will supply clean and safe water to 14 wards and 14 villages,” he said.
The minister further said that five deep wells are under construction in areas facing critical water shortage, funded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He added that road infrastructure has seen a significant upgrade, with the completion of a 35-kilometre tarmac road aimed at boosting accessibility and connectivity within the district.
Dr Jafo also handed over an ambulance to Chole Health Centre, a move that residents hailed as timely in improving emergency medical services.
Last year the retired Vice-President and Prime Minister, Mr John Malecela, urged members of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) to uphold patriotism and dedication in their service to the nation.
Mr Malecela, who also served as CCM Vice-Chairperson (Mainland), commended the swift and effective implementation of the CCM Election Manifesto, describing it as a testament to the party’s genuine commitment to serving Tanzanians.
He highlighted the achievements of President Dr Samia’s government, particularly in infrastructure development, healthcare and education, as a source of inspiration for members to strengthen solidarity and enhance the party’s leadership, which is built on a firm foundation of service to the people.
“CCM members must be exemplary in their patriotism. This is our historical duty, one we must honour through action,” Mr Malecela said.
In response, the ruling party, CCM Secretary General Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, expressed gratitude for Mr Malecela’s wisdom and experience, saying that it remains a valuable asset to both the party and the government.
“Your experience is a beacon for us. We continue to appreciate your insights, which have been a vital pillar for the party and the nation as a whole,” Dr Nchimbi said.
During the discussion, Mr Malecela also called on CCM members to uphold party unity and values, saying that these principles have been key to CCM’s success over its more than 60-year history.
He encouraged current CCM leaders to continue their good work while adhering to principles of justice, transparency and accountability.
“The ethics of good leadership have been a driving force behind the public’s trust in CCM,” Mr Malecela said.
“This is a time to work even harder to strengthen the nation’s development.”
