It’s Queens vs Princess in Dar derby today

SIMBA Queens are upbeat to stamp authority when they play Yanga Princess in the Dar es Salaam ladies’ derby at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.
During the press briefing at Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Head Quarter in Dar es Salaam both coaches acknowledged it would be an intense battle between the two sides.
The last time the two sides met, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both coaches have proven to have the best preparations and hope to claim maximum points.
Yanga Princess’, Assistant Coach Freddy Mbuna noted, “My players are in good shape for the derby. We did our homework and rectified mistakes from our past meeting with Simba Queens.”
He also acknowledged his rivals’ quality, insisting they are not afraid but are keen to stop and beat them.
“Simba Queens have an outstanding squad because it commands the log and has more goals this season. We know our opponents, and we are ready for them.”
Simba Queens Head Coach Charles Lukala informed the press that they have no injuries and are fit for the game.
“We don’t have any injuries in the team at the moment; we are league leaders determined to maintain our command on the table. Winning this match would be crucial to extend our chances to defend our title.”
Lukala further articulated it has been a tough season for each team, and the game has been well-prepared.
“The women’s league this year is challenging; I am sure champions will be revealed in the last match this season.
“The advantage of my team is that every player has a chance to play. I have four goalkeepers in my squad, and they all got a chance to play, “he said.
Remarking on the title race, Mbuna said they still have hopes to win the title as the campaign is still unpredictable.
“We still have hope to win the title, although the league is tough, and all teams are good this season.
Simba Queens’ skipper, Mwanahamisi Omary, remarked she was confident that her side to win for the technical bench drilled them well.
“The league is still tricky because every team has good players. However, it is an important game, and we hope to win.”
In retrospect, the captain of Yanga Princess Janeth Pangamwene said: “We also thank our sponsors who have come to give us strength in the league. We promise to perform well and grab the maximum points.”
