It’s Paul Makonda
DODOMA: Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Central Committee has appointed Paul Makonda as the ruling party’s Ideology and Publicity Secretary.
Mr Makonda, the former Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, is taking over from Sophia Mjema who has been appointed as an advisor to the President (Women, Children and Special Groups).
A statement signed by outgoing Publicity Secretary, Ms Sophia, states that the committee meeting which was presided by the CCM chairperson Samia Suluhu Hassan, has also appointed Rabia Abdallah Hamid as the new party’s secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations.
Rabia is taking over from Ambassador Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk who is the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.
Members of the committee have unanimously agreed that the government should continue on the next step of signing contracts on development and investment of port.
They have also congratulated both the United Republic of Tanzania and Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar under Dr Samia and Dr Hussein Mwinyi respectively for implementing CCM’s manifesto accordingly.
