It’s do or die for Yanga vs Monastir today

YOUNG Africans Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi said his players are ready to upset US Monastir as they meet at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.
It is a fifth match of CAF Confederation Cup’s group stage for the two teams as the Tunisian side has already sealed a ticket to play in the quarterfinals hence they are likely to approach the match with less pressure.
But the issue is different to the hosts who need to collect maximum points in order to be sure of qualification as such, they urgently need to win this game.
“Good results automatically takes us to the last-8 of the competition that is why we want nothing less than picking essential three points though it is going to be a tough match.
“They (Monastir) are group leaders and are looking to cruise into the quarterfinals without losing any match a thing we are not going to let happen here ,” said Nabi.
He added: “The good thing is that all our players are psychologically and physically well prepared to face their opponents and what they are focusing at is to assist their team make it beyond the group stage.”
Nabi then seized the platform to call for more Yanga fans to descend at the arena in big numbers and cheer their team throughout the match without their vocals ceasing.
“We need their support even during tough moments into the game because their voices usually energise players on the field and make them to double their efforts and, full capacity at the stadium will guarantee us a space into the quarterfinals,” he said.
His player Denis Nkane also revealed that they have had massive preparations and are now fully prepared to put in practice what they have been rehearsing.
“We have strong belief that positive results will go our way even though the match is going to be very difficult,” said Nkane who has recovered from the injury that kept him out of action for a long period.
On his part, Monastir trainer Darko Novic said they have no pressure because they have already made it into the Confederation Cup’s group stage quarters hence his charges will play the game fully relaxed.
“My players will be more relaxed than the way they were when we faced TP Mazembe in the previous match, but for now, we do not have any doubts,” he said.
Novic’s team continues to enjoy the hot cake in group D as they are the only side yet to suffer defeat and cherishes 10 points from four encounters.
