ISLES Premier League giants, KVZ are among the latest victims of the minnows after losing to Mwembe Makumbi in the Isles Federation Cup early this week.
KVZ who once led the Isles Premier League standings lost 4-1 to the Second Division League team in what baffled sports enthusiasts here.
KVZ become the fourth Premier League to be knocked out of the competition.
Staged at Amaan Stadium here, the match saw the teams ending the 90th minute in a 1-1 before the winner was decided on penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Mwembe Makumbi scored four while KVZ converted one spotkick.
Two matches staged at Amaan Stadium and Mao Zedong saw Uhamiaji and KMKM advancing to the upper stage on walkover after their opponents failed to appear at the venues.
Both teams were awarded a 2-0 win by the tournament’s governing body.
Uhamiaji were to meet Sharp Boys while KMKM, who are the Isles Premier League Champions, were to host Jang’ombe Boys.
At Amaan Stadium, Mlandege narrowly escaped elimination after drawing with Bambuu.
Mlandege eventually won 5-4 in the penalty shootout.
In Pemba, Jamhuri defeated Jondeni 5-4 also on penalty shootout while Young Islanders rallied to beat Fufuni 3-2 also on spotkicks after tying 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
