It will help them develop innovations, especially agricultural technologies, financial transaction technologies and also educational technologies where they will get various experiences from other African and European countries,” he said.

He said that the platform is run in parallel with other platforms in other African countries such as Uganda, Ghana and Nigeria and in Europe it is run in Italy.

“Apart from the presentations, they will also have opportunities to find out what their peers are doing in new areas like agriculture, financial education to be run using technology so they will see how they can improve it,” he said.

She said that they have run the programme for seven years now with the aim of providing creative young people with the necessary skills for self-employment.

The Agrinfo Company Limited Managing Director, Rose Funja who was also a facilitator at the training said that they provide education on how they can use technology thus young people can get rid of dependency or wait to be employed.

Ms Funja said Agrinfo is using drones to support agribusiness development in Tanzania.

“We use drones to collect data which they use to advise farmers to know if the plants are healthy or not and they also use them to get communication data to the communication tower,” she said.
