Hi Mr Blue! Bongo Flava legend rocks Dar

ALLIANCE Française in Upanga, Dar es Salaam was a beehive of action as Khery Rajab ‘Mr Blue’ seized the floor to dish out the hit songs that have made him well known in the music industry both within and outside the country.

Known as Bongo Flava Honours, the event gives a platform to legendary artistes in the country to perform live on the stage feeding people with classic songs that continue to linger in their minds.

For Mr Blue and all those who turned up for the big show on Friday night created long-lasting memories as it was a day worth spending bearing in mind that he is among the most renowned R&B plus Bongo Flavour artists of all time.

Mboga Saba is one of the songs that made the dancing arena crazy as people could not avoid to sing along a symbol that it is still one of the best songs doing well on the market.

It is evident that a performing artiste on the stage gets extra energy when he or she sees a great vibe on the dancing floor and without doubt, the same scenario happened to Mr Blue as the event progressed.

He featured another great musician of all time Ali Kiba in the Mboga Saba song, a love song that talks about how lucky he was to get a beautiful woman who loved him the way he is.

In a previous interview, Mr Blue clarified that he recorded the song on a different day with Kiba because of his busy schedule that he was having.

“After being given the beat of the song, I decided to feature Kiba but at that time, he was resurfacing into the game after taking a brief break as such, he was very busy hence, he had to record the song on a different day,” Mr Blue said.

He added that it was easy to bring Kiba into his song because of the good friendship that the duo has and that he was excited to hear the recorded version of Kiba as it perfectly fits well in his song.

Again, Mr Blue disclosed that the video vixen of the song is his in-law who lives in America, and at that time, she was not aware that she was doing the song with one of the great artists in the country, only realising that when the song was out.

“After shooting and releasing the video that is when she knew about my music status in the country and she was happy to be in my video,” he recalled.

Adding, he named Maua Sama as the one who sang the female voice in the Mboga Saba song saying most people are not aware of that.

However, the mastermind of Bongo Flavour Honours is Joseph Mbilinyi ‘Sugu’ another powerful name when it comes to Hip Hop in the country and has also been in the game for a long time.

“The idea is to bring legendary artistes one by one here at Alliance Francaise for the sake of dishing out their best songs to the audience while performing live on the stage and so far, I am thrilled with their cooperation,” Sugu said.

Others who have already been honoured through the event are Juma Nature, Dully Sykes, TID, and many more.
