More than 2,000 people in Handeni District, Tanga are set to benefit from Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services education to be offered by Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) under the ‘Water of Life’ agenda to ultimately lift them from waterborne diseases.
The SBL Director of Corporate Relations Mr John Wanyancha said in Dar es Salaam on Sunday that women and children are key beneficiaries of the project which is being implemented in partnership with Water Aid and is expected to commence next week at Kwamaizi area, Kideleko ward in Handeni.
“In this project, we are enabling women through inclusivity and diversity agenda and we are providing them with WASH services education that falls under our Water of Life agenda,” he said adding, “We are very passionate about this project because it touches two of our pillars which is Water of Life and inclusivity,”
One of SBL’s pillars is inclusivity and diversity, hence focusing on women as a marginalized group in this project is a strategic move to ensure that there is inclusivity in WASH services.

The WASH is SBL’s continuation of the 380m/-water project currently under implementation in Handeni.
