Hamdi commends Yanga players performance despite goalless draw
DAR ES SAALAM: YOUNG Africans head coach, Miloud Hamdi, commended his team’s performance despite a goalless draw against JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Monday.
Speaking after the match, Hamdi stated that they still have work to do, despite the fact that football is about winning, drawing or losing and that winning matches and titles is his aim.
He added that they needed all three points and that the fans were expecting a win, but it didn’t happen.
“We needed all three points. The fans were expecting a win but it did not happen. Fans usually want success in every game, but football isn’t necessarily about winning every time.
It’s about the big picture,” Hamdi explained. The coach underlined that such pressure is a good thing since it enhances the link between the squad and its fans.
“We don’t need too many words; our actions speak louder. We are here to win trophies and make our fans proud,” Hamdi said.
The coach also stated that owing to their hectic schedule of playing during games, he sought to change the group every three days.

“We tried to rotate the squad because we play a game every three days, but despite our efforts, we could not get the win,” he explained.
His counterpart, JKT Tanzania head coach, Ahmad Ally, hailed his team’s tactical discipline, which he believes earned them the crucial point against Yanga.
“We travelled from Arusha on Saturday, so we didn’t have much time for on-field preparation. We focused on tactical training in the classroom and it paid off with the point we earned against Yanga,” said Ally.
As things stand, Yanga are second on the league table with 46 points from 20 matches, while JKT Tanzania are in ninth place with 20 points from 18 matches
