Govt urges graduates to create employment opportunities

THE government has called on graduates from the Centre for Foreign Relations   to use knowledge and skills acquired to create employment opportunities through production, innovation, business, and investment.

Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister Dr Stergomena Tax also said that the group is crucial for enhancing the country’s economic diplomacy.

The minister   made the call over the weekend during the Centre for Foreign Relations 25th graduation ceremony held at Kurasini in Dar es Salaam.

She said the institute is a result of long term relations between Tanzania and Mozambique which have enabled students to learn foreign and diplomatic related issues at various levels including diploma, degree and master’s degree.

“Go and use the skills and knowledge you have acquired   to create   employment opportunities that will contribute to the growth of the national economy.”

Similarly she urged lecturers at the CFR to cooperate with other lecturers in other institutes such as ‘Uongozi’ Institute and others in East Africa in conducting more research aimed at improving the programmes designed by the institute to meet the country’s needs.

Recently, President Samia Suluhu Hassan said the country’s foreign policy needs to be reviewed in order to keep pace with the ongoing political, social and economic changes in the world.

President Samia said that the country needs to take a new direction in strengthening economic diplomacy which will reflect and adapt the changes taking place in the country and the world at large.

On his part,  Chairman of the Governing Council for Mozambique -Tanzania Centre for Foreign Relation (CFR) commended the government through the Ministry of  Foreign  Affairs and East African Cooperation for providing them with specific guidelines that has  enhanced  their performance.
