DAR ES SALAAM: THE Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, has urged contractors involved in the development of training grounds for the 2025 CHAN tournament to ramp up their efforts and workforce to ensure the remaining work is completed on time.
Mwinjuma made these remarks during his inspection of the ongoing upgrades to the facilities, emphasising the importance of meeting the highest standards and adhering to the set timeline.
The inspection tour, which took place on Christmas eve, December 24, was part of Mwinjuma’s ongoing assessment of the progress on the training venues for the CHAN 2025 tournament.

During the visit, he toured two key facilities, Major General Isamuhyo Stadium and the Law School Ground, both of which are being prepared to host the teams participating in the competition.
Speaking after the visit, Mwinjuma expressed his satisfaction with the contractors’ efforts, stating that he is confident the venues will meet the criteria set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“I am pleased with the progress of the construction and I believe all the necessary requirements will be met, with the venues handed over to the government by January 21, 2025,” said Mwinjuma.
He also emphasised the need for enhanced manpower and efficiency to ensure the facilities are completed to a high standard and on schedule.
Completing the work on time is a crucial step in successfully preparing for the upcoming continental tournament.
