Govt to upgrades Nanenane grounds in Mbeya, Dodoma

The Ministry of Agriculture plans to upgrade the status of John Mwakangale grounds in Mbeya and Nzuguni in Dodoma to International Agricultural Exhibition grounds.

Speaking on Monday in Dodoma, Minister for Agriculture Hussein Bashe said the plan will involve the designing of the grounds so as to renovate, build infrastructures as well as building the Tanzania Agricultural Museum for the grounds to meet international status.

According to the minister, the strategy is an opportunity to promote the country’s agriculture and products globally.

Mr Bashe said, the decision comes following instructions from President Samia Suluhu Hassan who tasked the ministry to begin a Tanzania International Agriculture Trade Show instead of having normal routine activities on farmer’s day.

According to the minister, President Samia particularly stated that the changes should begin with the John Mwakangale grounds due to its crop coverage.
