Govt injects 800m/- into Mkuranga hospital
MKURANGA: THE government has disbursed 800m/- to Mkuranga District Council, for the construction of a multi-storey building at the district hospital in a move aimed at improving healthcare services.
Mkuranga District Commissioner Ms Khadija Ali announced the funding during the monthly cleanliness exercise at the district hospital over the weekend.
She said the new building will house key departments, including a pharmacy, eye and dental clinics, a vaccination unit and three patient wards.
The facility will also accommodate a physiotherapy department and 17 administrative offices, giving the hospital a modern outlook, while improving the delivery of quality healthcare services.
Ms Ali directed health workers to continue serving patients with commitment and professionalism to support the government’s efforts to improve healthcare in the district.
“We must ensure that every person who brings a patient or seeks treatment at our hospital receives safe, dignified and quality services,” she said.
Speaking on behalf of residents, Mr Rajabu Mustafa of Mkwalia Sub-Village thanked the government for its continued investment in improving health services.
He said residents would protect and maintain the hospital infrastructure to ensure it continues serving the community effectively.
Meanwhile, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Bagamoyo District has commended the government for the progress made in implementing development projects in Bagamoyo and Chalinze district councils.
The praise was made during a special evaluation meeting held on Friday to review the implementation of the CCM Election Manifesto between January and December 2025.
Opening the meeting, CCM Bagamoyo District Chairman Mr Abubakari Mlawa urged party and government leaders to continue working together to ensure public funds are managed with integrity and accountability.
Presenting the implementation report, Bagamoyo District Commissioner Mr Shaibu Ndemanga highlighted achievements in various sectors, particularly health, including the construction and expansion of Msoga Hospital in Chalinze to improve healthcare services.
He also said the government has continued implementing projects aimed at increasing internal revenue, including the construction of Msoga Football Stadium, a modern bus terminal and markets to serve residents and traders.
Participants commended the sixth phase government for the progress made in implementing the ruling party’s manifesto.
Closing the meeting, Mr Mlawa called on leaders to continue supervising development projects with honesty and accountability to ensure wananchi continue benefiting from their implementation.
