Government boosts debt clearance efforts with TSh 100 Billion monthly allocation

DODOMA: FINANCE Minister Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar has announced that the Government plans to allocate TSh 100 billion every month to settle outstanding debts owed to public servants, contractors, suppliers, and various service providers in order to reduce the backlog of government liabilities.
While presenting the Ministry of Finance’s revenue and expenditure estimates for the 2026/2027 financial year before Parliament inDodoma, Ambassador Omar said the measure is aimed at strengthening the implementation of economic activities and improving efficiency in the delivery of public services.

He explained that the initiative will help address challenges caused by delayed payments, improve the business environment, and strengthen the confidence of stakeholders who work with the Government in implementing various projects and providing services across the country.
