DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’S top elite amateur golfer, Isiaka Daudi, is thrilled to compete in the prestigious Clutch Tour Tier 1 Tournament in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Daudi will join professional golfers Fadhil Nkya and Nuru Mollel at the tournament, which tees off from Tuesday to Thursday (March 18th – 20th).
The trio departed yesterday for their maiden appearance on the global stage, proudly representing Tanzania.
Their participation follows Daudi’s top finish in the Lina Professional Golfers (PG) Tour Pro-Am 2024 Order of Merit, securing Tanzania’s spot in the event.
The trip is organised under the Lina PG Tour’s Journey to Dubai Series, a five-event initiative designed to provide local professionals and elite amateurs with a pathway to international recognition.
Before departing to represent the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam, Daudi expressed his excitement and said: “I am truly happy to have this opportunity. I never expected it to turn out this way.”
He said Lina Tour president Said Nkya and the entire tournament organising team for making his dream true.
Having topped the Lina Tour elite amateur Order of Merit last year, Daudi is confident and well-prepared for the competition.
“I have undergone extensive training to be ready for battle. I’m in good health and believe God will guide me in my game,” he added.
The Tanzanian golfers will have two practice days before the tournament kicks off.
Lina PG Tour official Ayne Magombe confirmed that preparations for Tanzania’s participation are in full swing. She also announced that Nkya will captain the team, leading them against a strong international field.
