Global AI Summit 2024 to attract over 300 leaders
RIYADH: OVER 300 artificial intelligence leaders from around the world are expected to converge in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Global AI Summit 2024 from tomorrow to Thursday.
Hosted by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), this prestigious event aims to foster global collaboration and explore the transformative potential of AI across industries.
Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to diversify its economy, the summit will feature a diverse range of speakers, including innovators, academics, executives, regulators and decision-makers from 100 countries, according to a statement issued by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tanzania, Mr Yahya bin Ahmed Okeish.
The event’s theme, “Now, Next, Never,” will guide discussions on AI’s immediate implications, future innovations and ethical considerations for responsible AI development.
Notable global speakers at the summit include Cristiano Amon (President & CEO, Qualcomm Incorporated), Nick Studer (President & CEO, Oliver Wyman Group), Dr Marc Raibert (Chairperson, Boston Dynamics), Marcelo Claure (Founder & CEO, Claure Group), Julie Sweet (CEO, Accenture), Amandeep Gill (UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology), Kathleen Kennedy (Executive Director, MIT Centre for Collective Intelligence) and Alex Smola (CEO, Boson AI).

SDAIA’s spokesperson, Eng Majed Al-Shehri, emphasised the summit’s importance in shaping the future of AI, highlighting the need for sustainable AI integration that benefits society. “As we approach the third edition of the Global AI Summit, we stand at the threshold of a new era, where AI’s transformative power will be harnessed,” he stated.
The summit is expected to cover a wide range of topics, including AI ethics, applications in various industries and future trends. Participants will have the opportunity to network with industry leaders, learn about the latest advancements in AI and explore potential collaborations.
