Ghanaian named Simba Queens Head Coach

DAR ES SALAAM: A 52-year-old Ghanaian has been named new head coach for the defending Women’s Premier League champions.

Yussif Basigi now takes over from Juma Mgunda whose contract ended this month, the club said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the club, Basigi is already in the country leading the training sessions, as it prepares for the domestic league.

“Basigi brings impressive track records, having previously coached Ghana’s Black Queens from 2013 to 2017, as well as the Hasaacas Ladies,” it read part of the communique.

Notably, in 2015, he led the Black Queens to a gold medal in the All-African Games.
