GF Group’s pavilion claims the Overall Best Award at 50th DITF

DAR ES SALAAM: GF Group has continued to make history after winning the Overall Best Pavilion Award at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), commonly known as Sabasaba, marking its second consecutive year of receiving the prestigious recognition.
Speaking to employees and stakeholders, GF Group Chief Executive Officer Imran Karmali said the achievement was not the result of chance, but rather a reflection of the company’s commitment to innovation, discipline, teamwork and the dedication of its workforce, as well as its ambition to lead Tanzania’s automotive and industrial sectors.
Karmali noted that over the past 19 years since its establishment, GF Group has undergone remarkable transformation, evolving from a company with a modest vision into one of Tanzania’s leading automotive business groups.
Today, the company represents several international vehicle brands, assembles vehicles locally, invests in human capital development, creates employment opportunities and contributes significantly to the country’s industrial growth.
He explained that GF Group has expanded beyond vehicle sales by investing in local vehicle assembly, introducing advanced technologies, developing the skills of local professionals and strengthening domestic manufacturing with the goal of positioning Tanzania as a regional hub for automotive industry development.
In another major milestone, GF Group announced the launch of products under its own GF brand, describing the move as part of its long-term strategy to develop and promote Tanzanian-made products that meet international quality standards.
According to the company, its vision extends beyond serving the Tanzanian market. It aims to manufacture products designed to meet Africa’s needs, produced in Tanzania and trusted in international markets.

Commenting on the award, Karmali said the recognition represents more than an attractive exhibition pavilion. It reflects the company’s innovation, professionalism, strategic vision and proven ability to execute ambitious plans successfully.
He encouraged employees to continue serving as ambassadors for GF Group by ensuring that every service they provide, every decision they make and every vehicle they assemble strengthens the company’s reputation both within Tanzania and beyond its borders. Karmali also observed that the global automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by electric vehicles and digital technologies.
He said GF Group is positioning itself to help shape that future rather than simply respond to it.
He emphasized that this year’s award represents another important milestone in the company’s journey to build a Tanzanian enterprise capable of competing with Africa’s leading companies through product quality, innovation, integrity, modern manufacturing and the creation of employment and economic opportunities for Tanzanians.
Concluding his remarks, Karmali congratulated all employees for their contribution to the achievement and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuously raising performance standards while building a lasting legacy that will benefit both present and future generations.
